Universal Membranes for home RO systemsThe replacement membrane we carry will fit in most all reverse osmsosis systems on the market today and many of the older model reverse osmosis systems as well. We even carry Culligan membranes as well for the AC-10,15,20,& 30 models of Culligan systems as well as the newer model systems.
What's are the differences between
a CTA and TFC/TFM Membranes? A CTA membrane or(Cellulose Triacetate) are made of paper by-products then bonded to a synthetic layer thus producing a CTA membrane. Due to the cellulose composition make-up, a CTA membrane requires chlorine in the water source to keep bacteria from forming on the membrane itself. A CTA membrane have a lower rejection rate of between 80-85% and are much slower to make water. CTA membranes have an average life expectancy of 18-24 months and are considered inferior to TFC membranes. (NOTE: TFC/TFM membranes CANNOT BE USED IN PLACE OF A CTA membrane) Most all newer model home reverse osmosis systems today use only TFC/TFM (Thin Film Composite) membranes, which are made completely of a synthetic material thus having a longer life and much higher output with far higher quality water overall. A TFC/TFM membranes require that any chlorine be removed from the water by the use of carbon filration prior to the water coming in contact with the membrane. TFC membranes have a rejection percentage of between 95-98%, which is far higher than most CTA membranes. A TFC membrane will last between 3 to 5 years depending on the water quality coming in from your water supply and whether you are using soft water coming into your home or office. The Reverse Osmosis membranes we offer will fit most all standard reverse osmosis systems on the market today. NOTE: When placing an order for a membrane please be sure to check the your your owners manual for the correct membrane for your system. If you have a question about the numbers on the membrane or the size of the membrane for your system please contact us by email at info@camarillowaterstore.com for more help, please be sure to give us as much information about your system including the make and model number and the size of membrane(i.e. overall leight & diamitor) that came out of your system. If you have a digital camera please take a picture of the old membrane and send it along with all the information you have on your system and we will be happy to help you. Also, please make note of your system is it a 2 stage, 3 stage, 4 stage, 5 stage or 6 stage system (count how many filters are on your system) this will give us the information we need to better help you with your questions.
