It comes with special connections for the Merlin system and 2 each special 1 micron sediment filters included. This filter is now recommended by GE for Merlin reverse osmosis system when the system is used for large amounts of water or in a business.GE has recommended that a 1 micron sediment filter be installed before the system in order to remove large amounts of sediment from the water going into the system. This special sediment filter will provide for much longer life of the pre-carbon filter and better overall performance in the Merlin system and will be less costly in the long term of the use of the system. The special clear housing is designed so that when the filter needs replacing you will be abel to see just how dirty the filter has become.
